IT Coordinator (Salaried)

Beyond Baptism is seeking a skilled and experienced IT Coordinator to oversee the technology infrastructure and operations of our Catholic ministry. The IT Coordinator will be responsible for managing all aspects of information technology, including systems administration, maintenance of hardware and software, cybersecurity, and technical support. This role is critical in ensuring the reliability, security, and efficiency of our IT systems to support the mission and operations of our ministry.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Technology Infrastructure Management:

    • Oversee the implementation, configuration, and maintenance of IT systems, with a focus on cloud-based solutions.

    • Ensure the optimal performance and availability of the organization’s cloud-based IT infrastructure.

  2. Systems Administration:

    • Manage cloud-based user accounts, permissions, and access control to ensure security and compliance.

    • Perform regular system updates, backups, and maintenance tasks to ensure system integrity and availability.

  3. Cybersecurity:

    • Develop and implement cybersecurity policies and procedures to protect the organization's data and IT assets.

    • Monitor and respond to security incidents and breaches.

    • Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.

  4. Hardware and Software Maintenance:

    • Maintain and troubleshoot hardware components such as computers, printers, and networking equipment.

    • Manage software licenses and ensure that all software is up-to-date and compliant with relevant regulations.

  5. Technical Support:

    • Provide technical support to staff and volunteers, resolving IT-related issues in a timely manner.

    • Develop and deliver training programs to enhance staff and volunteer IT competencies.

  6. Project Management:

    • Lead IT projects from planning through implementation, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.

    • Collaborate with other departments to understand their IT needs and provide appropriate solutions.

  7. Vendor Management:

    • Manage relationships with external IT vendors and service providers.

    • Evaluate and negotiate contracts to ensure cost-effective and reliable services.

  8. Documentation and Reporting:

    • Maintain accurate records of IT assets, configurations, and maintenance activities.

    • Prepare regular reports on IT operations and performance for the CEO and board of directors.

Qualifications:

  1. Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT management or a similar role.

    • Experience in a non-profit organization, preferably within the faith-based sector.

  2. Skills and Competencies:

    • Strong knowledge of IT systems, networks, and cloud-based services.

    • Proficiency in systems administration and troubleshooting.

    • Excellent project management skills.

    • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.

    • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Catholic faith and teachings.

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, CompTIA Cloud+).

Salary and Work Hours:

  • Salary: This position will start as a volunteer role with the goal of transitioning to a paid position with an annual salary to be determined once funding is secured.

  • Work Hours: 10 hours per week
