Training Coordinator (Salaried)

Beyond Baptism is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Training Coordinator to join our Catholic ministry team. The Training Coordinator will be responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating training programs for volunteers within our ministry. This person will also assist in the onboarding of new volunteers. This role is crucial in ensuring that our volunteer team members are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and resources needed to effectively serve our community and fulfill our mission of training and utilizing laity to catechize and help in the faith formation of Catholics.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Training Program Development:

    • Redesign and develop comprehensive training programs for volunteers that align with the organization's mission and goals.

    • Create training materials, manuals, and resources that are engaging and informative.

    • Incorporate various training methods to accommodate different learning styles (e.g., workshops, e-learning, hands-on activities).

  2. Training Implementation:

    • Deliver training sessions to new and existing volunteers.

    • Schedule and coordinate training sessions, ensuring accessibility for all volunteers.

    • Utilize technology and digital platforms to facilitate remote training when necessary.

  3. Training Evaluation:

    • Assess the effectiveness of training programs through feedback, surveys, and performance metrics.

    • Continuously improve training programs based on evaluation results and volunteer feedback.

    • Report on training outcomes to the CEO and other stakeholders.

  4. Volunteer Onboarding:

    • Assist in the onboarding process for new volunteers, ensuring a smooth transition into the organization.

    • Provide orientation sessions to introduce new volunteers to the organization's mission, values, and procedures.

    • Ensure new volunteers are fully equipped with the necessary tools and knowledge to begin their roles.

  5. Collaboration and Support:

    • Work closely with other departments to ensure training programs support the overall objectives of the organization.

    • Provide ongoing support and mentorship to volunteers, addressing any training-related questions or concerns.

    • Foster a positive and supportive environment for volunteer development.

  6. Documentation and Reporting:

    • Maintain accurate records of all training activities, materials, and volunteer progress.

    • Prepare regular reports on training activities and outcomes for the CEO and board of directors.

    • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and standards.

Qualifications:

  1. Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in education, Training and Development, Human Resources, or a related field.

    • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in training, instructional design, or a similar role.

    • Experience in a non-profit organization, preferably within the faith-based sector.

  2. Skills and Competencies:

    • Strong instructional design and curriculum development skills.

    • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills.

    • Proficiency in using digital learning platforms and training software.

    • Strong organizational and project management skills.

    • Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships with diverse stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Catholic faith and teachings.

  • Experience in volunteer management and support.

  • Certification in training and development (e.g., CPLP, CPTM).

Salary and Work Hours:

  • Salary: This position will start as a volunteer role with the goal of transitioning to a paid position with an annual salary to be determined once funding is secured.

  • Work Hours: 12 hours per week
